TOO "Sheber Oyl" operates a highly advanced refinery in Almaty city, currently processing 21 out of 24 crude oil grades and producing 15 different petroleum products. These include automotive gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, black oil, petroleum coke, and more. The refinery fully meets Kazakhstan’s domestic demand for petroleum products, with 45% of its output exported to international markets.

The refinery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the ED-AV-6 unit commissioned in 2012 for initial oil refining, a catalytic reforming unit (2013), a gradual coking unit (2015), and a catalytic cracker (2017). The most critical components include the initial refining unit, ED-AV-6 electric desalter, and the fuel oil vacuum distillation unit.

To improve fuel quality in line with international standards, the refinery implemented advanced fuel cleaning technologies using alkali treatment and naphthenic acid feedstock production, under a licensed agreement with Merichem Company (USA).

The commissioning of the catalytic cracker in 2014 and the catalytic reformer in 2013 enabled significant enhancements in the quality of gasoline and diesel fuels. In 2016, the refinery produced:

• 20,000 tons of A-98 gasoline

• 1,100,500 tons of A-92 gasoline

• 12,400 tons of A-80 gasoline

• 200,200 tons of kerosene

• 2,000,000 tons of diesel fuel

• 114,000 tons of liquefied gas

• 133,300 tons of petroleum coke

• 110,300 tons of furnace oil
